How I got here

The computer science degree turned out to be the useful half of the story rather than the whole of it. Knowing how a site is actually built changes how you market it — you stop treating page speed, crawlability and information architecture as somebody else’s problem, because you can go and fix them yourself.

Over the past five years I’ve worked in WordPress, Shopify, SEO and paid advertising across Google, Facebook, YouTube and other platforms, and helped more than 100 local and international clients work toward their business goals. In the last three of those years I got the chance to work across several industries at once, which is the fastest way I know to learn what actually transfers between them and what does not.

What I actually do

Most of my projects are a build plus the marketing that makes the build worth paying for. A website that nobody finds is an expensive brochure; traffic sent to a site that does not convert is an expensive lesson. The two halves are the same job.

On the development side that means WordPress and WooCommerce builds, Shopify stores, rebrands and migrations. On the marketing side: technical SEO, content architecture, local SEO and Google Business Profile work, and paid campaigns on Google Search, YouTube and Meta.

How I work

Fixed quotes rather than open-ended hourly billing, written updates rather than silence, and an honest answer at the start if I think you would be better served by someone else or by a smaller scope than you asked for. I would rather turn down a project than deliver one I cannot stand behind.

Currently I run my own digital marketing and web agency, and I still take on direct client work. Whether you are a small business or an established company, the goal is the same: expand your digital presence with a plan that survives contact with reality.
